I figured we could stand to talk about things in a slightly less academic manner, and more of a personal one.
Are there any techniques or terms you've picked up in this class or any other ones you're taking this semester that you've incorporated in to your placements for this class? Personally, I've learned a few things in my Educational Psychology class that have helped me connect with students in 50Large and my field placement in TSL, such as scaffolding and positive/negative reinforcement. So I was wondering if anyone else has picked up skills that they were able to immediately implement.

Yes, in all the ways you described, but also in more personal ways. For example, new information from Dr. Myers' class will provide the base on which my mid-term for this class is written...and just in time! I also find myself considering these educational theories and strategies at home, as I continue to raise my 2 teenage daughters.

I end up trying to make things fun. If I can turn things into a game that allows me to analyze students' behavior and what level they are at. By how they participate in the activity or answer the questions it allows me to form certain groups which allows for me to make sure students are learning the material.

I haven't yet used anything we've learned in this class in my placement since I haven't started. But I have started identifying when i use literacy practices in my lesson plans, and being English Ed obviously there are very many, but I've noticed how much I use and what are the really good ones and what are just ok.
